Womens Paddle Board Lessons
Last Tuesday on the Brunswick River, a group of a dozen Women from the local area plus their kids gathered to learn about Stand up Paddle Boarding.
All from different parts of the community, they were ready and willing to give this sport a shot. Firstly the serious side of the lesson focused on water safety, Dave Bell (the instructor) guided everybody through the techniques. Then led onto board and paddle handling. Once these basics were grasped, laughter took over and the fun times began.
The group, most of the whom had never surfed before took to the water, kids and all. Having a ball. Smiles sunnies and cowboy hats. Vanessa Thompson, her son Kieren and his friend Miki paddled all over the river. One of the Ladies Who had never been confident around the water was quoted to say” I’ve really stepped out side my comfort zone today.
I have a new respect, but feel so good about this experience, I
want to try it again. Overall a great day, a new experience, and a
group of new friends having a great time.
